The culmination of several months of work, this interactive guide aims to distill 10,000 words worth of explanatory text about California’s new school finance system into something more bit sized. It’s a redesign upgrade of our previous guide, which was popular among our readers at EdSource. Liberal use of Javascript and jQuery for slide animations and user interface, while all the data is stored in the WordPress database for easy access by non-coders.

Included in this project is an interactive database containing funding data on thousands of school districts and charter schools. That was built using Flask and my d3-based template chart maker.
